Ales
At The Dog & Pheasant we pride ourselves on the quality and the reputation of our cask ales. We have been accredited by Cask Marque, an independent organization since 2009 which measures the standard of our ales twice a year. We aim to showcase both local and seasonal beers where possible with Hog's Back TEA being a very popular choice with the brewery only a few miles away. Both Ringwood Best and Fortyniner remain firm customer favourites and remain on the pumps for much of the year. Listed below are some of our more recent guest beers alongside our customer favourites
Ringwood Best
The perfect supping beer! Ringwood's first brew and still the New Forest's favourite tipple. Best Bitter was awarded Bronze Medal at the Munich Beer Festival in 2005.

Fortyniner
Named after the 1849 gold rush. Golden in colour and brewed to 4.9%, Ringwood has been brewing this classic beer since 1978.

Hog's Back TEA (Traditional English Ale)
The brewery’s flagship ale is pale brown, with a hoppy and slightly fruity aroma supported by malt in the taste. A well crafted, bittersweet beer with a long dry finish. A classic Best Bitter.

Sharps's Doom Bar
Doom Bar Bitter is named after an infamous sandbank at the mouth of the Camel Estuary in North Cornwall. The aroma of Doom Bar combines an accomplished balance of spicy resinous hop, inviting sweet malt and delicate roasted notes.

Summer Lightning
A trendsetter in the brewing industry; the original Summer ale brewed all year round. An extremely pleasant bitter, straw coloured beer with a terrific fresh, hoppy aroma. This, coupled with an intense bitterness, leads to an excellent long, dry finish. Probably the beer to receive the most awards in Britain!
